Fri, 19th Jun 2009 New Delhi: Former Australian captain Steve Waugh on Friday condemned attacks on Indian students in Australia and appealed to all concerned to "bring an end to this unfortunate chain of events".
Waugh, who was here to launch the Steve Waugh Foundation Global, issued a written statement saying he was "shocked and saddened by the reports" of Indian students being attacked in his country.
He stated that the two countries had "always enjoyed strong and excellent relations, especially through cricket, sport and business" and that the safety of any young person in a foreign country should be treated in all seriousness and as "paramount". |
